Program Strengths
We have a special focus on preparing students to teach, with a particularly good placement record in small liberal arts colleges. This focus leads to an emphasis in learning the history of philosophy, in addition to contemporary work in the central areas of philosophy (metaphysics, epistemology and ethics). / We have particularly noteworthy strengths in metaphysics, epistemology, action theory, philosophy of religion, history of philosophy (especially Aquinas, Scotus, Reid and Kierkegaard) and Christian ethics.
