Recognized for our commitment to personalized teaching and intensive research, we are a diverse department that offers: Degree Options: We have a doctoral program and two terminal master's programs: one in philosophy and one in social philosophy. Various Specializations: Although we are especially strong in Continental philosophy and Ethics/Social Political philosophy, our faculty is also recognized for expertise in History of philosophy, Anglo-American Philosophy, and philosophy of Religion. Outstanding Faculty: With one of the largest faculties in North America composed of approximately thirty full-time faculty members, we are able to offer a wide array of graduate seminars. Many of our faculty members are experts in their fields, with national or international reputations. Teaching Experience: We offer an in-depth teaching internship that fosters practical experience in the classroom. Teaching assistantships also provide students with educational and professional benefits, enhancing their pedagogical skills. Excellent Placement: Our alumni enjoy great success in their chosen career paths, and many secure full-time positions at respected colleges and universities.
