Program Strengths
As the only terminal master's degree program in philosophy in San Diego, California, our small department offers students personal attention. There is no specialty of the department but broad representation within the discipline, including Asian philosophy. MA students learn about pedagogy and gain invaluable paid teaching experience. Students opt to complete a thesis (recommended for those going onto a PhD program) or other capstone project.
