Additional efforts to increase inclusiveness

Faculty are teaching and doing research in areas of philosophy that concern diverse populations, including African American philosophy, feminist theory, and environmental justice. The Department hosted a very successful conference on the topic of intersectionality that brought prominent feminist race theorists into dialogue with each other and with many members of the local (and regional) community, including a number of non-academic scholars and activists. Both our course offering and our visiting lecturers reflect our commitment to diversity.
