Additional efforts to increase inclusiveness

The graduate program in Philosophy at UWM supports inclusivity and encourages applications from students of diverse backgrounds. The school offers a fellowship for qualified members of underrepresented groups and other disadvantaged students in graduate studies. The department coordinates a research workshop for Milwaukee area women in philosophy (MAWP), which includes graduate students and faculty from UWM and other nearby institutions. The department also encourages faculty and teaching staff to include a diverse range of philosophers in their reading lists and syllabi.
