For a non-thesis M.A., the candidate must satisfy the following requirements / Complete at least two semesters in residence at Rice University. / Complete 42 hours of courses approved for graduate credit in philosophy at Rice University with B- or better. / Accumulate an overall GPA of at least 3.0. / Complete at least 30 hours in philosophy at the 500 level. / Satisfy the departmental logic requirement (Philosophy 505 or examination). / Complete at least 5 courses in an area of concentration. / Satisfactorily complete departmental duties.
